How It Works

100+ Women

We are a collective of women who care deeply about our communities and are committed to making a difference through the work of local charities.

Membership

New members commit to participate for a minimum of one year, with four donations of $100 each. Meetings are held in September, November, March and May.

Charities

This chapter of 100+ Women supports the work of local charities in South Georgian Bay; specifically Collingwood, Clearview, Meaford, The Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, and all points in between.

Nominations

Charities are nominated by members in good standing. In preparation for each meeting, three charities are randomly selected from those that have been nominated.

Presentations

During our meetings, nominated charities each give a 5-minute presentation about the work of the charity and how a donation would be used locally if the charity is selected. The presentation is followed by a 5-minute Q&A.  Either the nominating member or a representative from the charity may make the presentation and answer questions.

Voting

Each member of 100+ Women SGT receives one voting ballot. The member must be current with their donations. Each meeting, the charity receiving the greatest number of votes will receive $100 from every member.

Members unable to attend may vote by proxy. LINK

Making the Donation

Preferably, members donate through a pre-set link with Canada Helps. The link is found on our website and is sent in a post-meeting email.

Alternately, members may write a cheque payable to the charity with "100+ Women SGT" in the subject line.

Charities will issue the tax receipts.

Impact

Our donations are helping to make lives better for countless individuals and families. Each meeting begins with a 10-minute update on how the funds donated at the previous meeting were used locally by the charity.

Chosen charities agree not to use member information for solicitation purposes and will not share this information with any third parties except for tax purposes.

Chosen charities are encouraged to acknowledge the donation from 100 Women Who Care SGT through mention on social media, its website, newsletter or email, etc.

Charities receiving a donation from 100 Women are eligible for nomination after a three-year wait period.
